To our supporters and friends:

It has been some time since ACERO has posted updates on its Facebook page and website.

This has been in respect of the repose of His Holiness the late Mar Dinkha IV, 120th Catholicos-Patriarch of the Apostolic See of Seleucia-Ctesiphon who went to the Lord on 26 March 2015 in Rochester, Minnesota, USA.

The loss of our great shepard has been received with profound sorrow by faithful of the Church of the East and a great many Christians around the world.

All those associated with ACERO however have felt a particular sense of grief given the role of His Holiness as the founder of our organisation and his immense affection for its mission and work. His Holiness was himself a tireless advocate for ACERO. Indeed, all work that we have done to date had been at the behest of His Holiness who until the last weeks of his earthly life was in communication with ACERO’s leadership urging that our work should continue and broaden so that we may reach the sons and daughters of the Assyrian nation in this time of immense tragedy.

Our organisation’s leadership, its supporters and volunteers were moved beyond expression on the news that one of His Holiness’ final requests was that donations be made to ACERO in lieu of flowers.

Therefore, in line with His Holiness’ wishes and in tribute to his blessed memory and legacy, we will resume posting updates on our aid work in the Middle East and elsewhere. At this time, we also pray for His Beatitude Mar Aprem, Locum Tenens of the Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East and the Synod of Bishops as they embark on the awesome journey for the election of a worthy successor to His Holiness and leader for our most ancient and apostolic church.

To all our supporters; a profound thanks.
